'Created Equal?' by unknown artist, One Big Union Monthly, December 1937.
A working class man and his children look on in envy while a rich man purchases all kinds of marvelous toys for his child. The enormous chasm between the opulent lifestyle of the wealthy and the austere existence of the worker had made the notion of equality a farce in America. The author of this cartoon notes the irony of a system in which the producing class has not the money with which to purchase the very things that they themselves have produced. The caption below indicates that equality can be achieved when labor, organized and united, rises to take hold of the means of production to produce and distribute goods for the benefit of all society.
